How Do I Keep My Heart from Growing Hard?
It is easy for a heart to harden over time.
Disappointments stack up.
People let you down.
Hopes get crushed.
The natural response is to put up a wall.
To stop hoping.
To stop trusting.
To go a little numb.
But Scripture warns against the hardened heart.
A soft heart is risky, but it is the only kind God can fully use.
Jesus said the meek will inherit the earth.
He did not say the cynical, the guarded, or the self-protected.
A soft heart can still be wounded.
But it can also still feel joy, still receive love, still be moved by beauty.
Trade the wall for vulnerability.
The Spirit will help you.
Where might your heart be hardening today?
