What Does It Mean to Offer Myself to God?
Paul urged believers to offer their bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God.
Notice the contrast.
Old Testament sacrifices were dead.
New Testament worship is alive.
We offer ourselves not by dying once, but by daily yielding.
Every morning is an offering.
Every choice is an offering.
Every relationship is an offering.
The hard part of being a living sacrifice, as someone once said, is that we keep crawling off the altar.
We yield, then take ourselves back.
We surrender, then resume control.
Today, offer yourself again.
Place your body, your time, your future, your fears on the altar.
Then leave them there.
He receives every offering with delight.
